Our Family 2014

This incisive adaptation of Hayami Kazumasa's novel succinctly charts a typical family's meltdown when the mother, Reiko (Harada Mieko), is suddenly diagnosed with a terminal brain tumour. Oldest son Kosuke (Tsumabuki Satoshi) is forced to take the reins as each family member deals with the shocking news in a different manner. More revelations follow as secrets and grievances spill out and the full extent of the financially strapped family's burdens comes to light.
